Print for Project Web Access
offers great Gantt prints for MS® Project Web Access. Unlike the current printing capabilities in versions 2003 and 2007, Print for Project Web Access allows for beautiful Gantt print with robust capabilities, when you access the Project Center section in MS® Project Web Access.

Supported Views from Project Web Access

Project Web Access 2003/2007 has 20 default views and unlimited number of custom views. These views are based on the Gantt chart and Resource Usage view and presents different type of project’s information. Print for Project Web Access supports all default views as well as the views that the project manager has created in the Project Server 2003/2007.

Supported Functions from Project Web Access

While working with Project Web Access 2003/2007 users can use certain functions, like filters or groups, to have certain views of project information. Print for Project Web Access can present the same look of the project plan like in Project Web Access after the you have for example, grouped the tasks by duration or filtered the project plan by resources.


Project Center in Web Access


Print for Project Web Access can print only published project plans located in the Project Center section. In addition to these published projects, in Project Web Access 2007 proposed project plan can be saved in the Project Center section. These types of project plans are not supported by Print for Project Web Access.



You can customize the printing outcome by using the extended settings:

Printer and copies


Printer


The Printer option shows the printers that are connected to the PC and gives an opportunity for choosing Printer; setting embedded printer properties through “Properties” button.

Copies


Allows user to choose the number of the copies of the project plan.


Print Range and Scaling


Print Range


Print Range option gives an opportunity to the user to choose the printout of the project plan. He/she can print entire project plan or several pages from it. 

Timescale


Another option for selecting what will be print from the project plan is timescale setting. User can customize the time period for printing by defining the start date and the finish date or to print the entire project’s time period.

Scaling


Scaling functionality allows user to compress the printout of the project plan. This compress process can be done by using the Adjusting to “X”% from the normal size feature or by Fit to option where user selects the number of pages. For example: If the original printout is 4 pages wide by 2 pages tall, user can set the printout to be 2 pages wide by 1 page tall using the Fit to option.


Diagram Elements

Columns

In the Columns window are presented the columns that are available by default in some particular view. User can choose whether all columns from that view will be printed or only the columns that are selected by the user. Beside the print option, user can arrange the order of appearance of the columns on the print out as well as the dimension of the column (Column width option). 

Drawing settings

The Drawing Settings option refers to the template’s customizing process of the project’s printout. User can select whether he\she will put legend on every page or not, print left column of pages only, print columns on every column of page, print first “X” columns of every page, draw resources names after task, etc.
